FAQ

What is an Egg Drop?

45,000 easter eggs filled with chocolates and prizes will be dropped from a helicopter!

What's inside the eggs?

We are dropping plastic Easter eggs with chocolates inside. In every age category a few special eggs will contain a voucher for a prize! You can collect your prize, with your voucher, at the prize table.

Is there an age cap?

For the safety of younger children, the age cap is 12 for the egg hunt area, we will however have other activities/prizes for adults and teenagers alike! And who doesn't want to see 30,000 eggs fall out of a helicopter anyway?

Will my younger kids be over run by older kids?

We have split the egg hunt into 4 age appropriate zones: 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12. Each age group will have their own egg drop so younger children will be just fine. We also have a toddler zone geared towards kids 3 and under.

Do we need to bring our own basket to collect eggs?

We will provide each child with a bag they can keep and use to collect Easter eggs. You are free to bring your own basket, although it's not necessary.

Is this safe?

Yes! everyone will be standing in a safe area away from where the eggs are being dropped. After the eggs are dropped and we get the go head, children will be allowed to run out into the field to gather them up.

What if it is raining or snowing?

In the event of inclement weather, please check the website for details about rescheduling. If you RSVP'd on the site we will email you with any date or venue changes.

Are parents/guardians allowed to gather eggs with their children?

Only parents of the 0-5 year olds will be allowed to help their children on the field. Parents from the other age groups will be able to watch and encourage their children from the boundary lines around the field. Our amazing volunteers will ensure your children stay safe during their hunt (this will also ensure over-zealous parents don't grab all the eggs and ruin the event for other children, wink wink)

I have children in multiple age zones. How do I watch them all?

We are staggering the hunt times for each age group by 30 minutes. This provides the ultimate safety and ensures parents can give full attention to their children in each age specific zone.

Where should I park?

More info on parking and shuttles is coming soon! We will say now that on site parking will be limited and will be given at a first come first serve bases.

Are there shuttles?

Who is #WEHEARTOTTAWA?

We believe that love speaks louder than words - that love can transform hearts, lives - even a city. #WeHeartOttawa spearheads bold and audaciously generous events throughout our city just to spread some love. From giving 1,000's of toys away at Christmas to needy families to dropping 30,000 eggs from a helicopter, our events bring the city together in a spirit of no-strings-attached love and generosity.

Is the event really free?

Yes! The event is free admission. On site parking is also free (but limited). Activities are also free (bouncy castles, face painting etc). There will be food vendors if you wish to purchase food and/or beverages.

Will there be anything else to do?
